Luola Murchison married James Sprunt
LLD.
In 1904 he bought Orton and presented to his wife. He
encouraged her to make Orton her own. In 1910, she had wings
added to Orton house and began to design and plant the garden.
At her death in 1916, her husband had the Orton Chapel renamed
as a memorial to her. Today it is a popular attraction and the
site of many weddings.
